Knew Productions helps keep children active on innovative education programme

17th Mar 2017

A project promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of children by combining PE and maths is aiming for further growth with the help of Knew Productions. We have recently produced two videos for Chester-based educational firm Maths of the Day, which teaches numeracy through fun physical activities. We filmed and edited a testimonial video for the Maths Of The Day website, as well as a  series of short 30 second ‘how to use the resources’ guides.

Since its inception in 2015 by ex-teacher Jon Smedley, Maths of the Day is a resource used by primary schools across the UK and internationally to drive numeracy standards up. The resource delivers lesson plans for school years 1-6, combining maths and PE to assist children’s development in numeracy and physical and mental health.

Maths of the Day has earned the praise of the education standards office, Ofsted, and leading sports education charity Youth Sport Trust. Founder Jon Smedley said: “Our resource has been proven to help children’s maths skills and Knew Productions’ videos will help us reach even more schools.

“The quality of the videos is clear and this has had a real impact on our website as it clearly illustrates how Maths of the Day helps primary school pupils and teachers.”

At Knew Productions, we feel that Maths of the Day is a fantastic product.  During the filming it was brilliant to see the pupils having fun, keeping fit, and learning maths at the same time.  It’s been a huge success helping schools improve their standards and our videos will help show the benefits that Maths Of The Day provides.

We’ve worked on a variety of education projects over the years and to know you’re helping young people learn is always good. Other organisations we have worked with in the education and sports sector include, Theatr Clwyd, The Golf Foundation, Bangor University, Flintshire CC, Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, Wrexham FC, and Youth Sports Trust.
