Getting the field of vision right

The team at Knew Productions prides itself on producing high-quality videos for a wide variety of sectors. One of these is the agricultural sector, where we have a number of clients that we have worked with time and again. In addition, our director Richard Knew has roots in the sector, having grown up within a rural community.


Hillsgreen: showcasing leadership in rural businesses

Hillsgreen work with a range of clients in the farming and rural sector and recognise the power video can play in an integrated marketing communications strategy. Over the last couple of years, the company has partnered with us on a range of projects. This has included capturing the company’s own inaugural Cultivate Conference early in 2020. This business and leadership conference brought together 270 participants from the sector. We filmed and edited the entire conference, which was then shared free in 2021 during the pandemic. The ‘highlights’ edit from the conference is currently being used to promote the next event, which will take place in January 2022. 


Spotlight on robotics

Hillsgreen also brought us in to film Open Day events for another agricultural client, Lely.  A Netherlands-based business, Lely has a franchise, which covers a large part of the UK. Hillsgreen provide strategic marketing support to Lely, and as part of this the company organised an Open Day, which took place on a farm in Cheshire, to showcase the launch of Lely’s Vector product, a robotic feeder. The video highlights Lely’s ambition to improve efficiency for the farming community. In addition, we have since produced a case study video for the Lely robot milking system installed at Reaseheath College and another of their On Farm Open Day events in Ludlow.

There’s an App for that

Another Hillsgreen client is Herdwatch, which has developed an App for dairy and beef farmers, helping them to become more efficient and save time on paperwork. Storytelling is a vital part of marketing to the agricultural and rural businesses, as buying decisions are fundamentally influenced by word-of-mouth and recommendations. Video case studies lend themselves perfectly to provide first person testimonials, and we produced a suite of four of these for the company’s YouTube Channel.

Andy Venables, director at Hillsgreen explains: “We were introduced to Richard Knew and his team over four years ago and have worked with his business ever since. ForFarmers: Legacy partners

ForFarmers is Europe’s biggest animal feeds company and Knew Productions has produced videos for its Pig and Poultry division for the last 15 years. Most recently, we have been working with ForFarmers’ head of marketing and communications Holly Goodchild. 


Holly explains: “Video is an important part of the marketing mix for us, and it’s a communications channel we’re increasingly using – across digital, website and social – to tell our stories.  I inherited Richard and his team when I joined the business, but I have continued to work with Knew Productions, as the team is able to consistently grasp and translate the brief and turn around a video that meets my requirements, in good time and with minimum issues.

We have filmed all over the UK for ForFarmers, from North Yorkshire to Cornwall. We have provided a variety of videos, from product launches, service promotions and conference videos, through to safety training films and animations.
