Our brief was to create a CD-Rom that would promote the benefits of living in the countryside and encourage young people to join the Young Farmers.
Our solution was to involve young people in the filming and give them ownership of the video. We trained them how to present in front of the camera and then filmed a series of multi-genre short films in places of local interest. We also showed them how to get the best out of their camcorder, and encouraged them to film their own video diaries, which were also included in the CD-Rom. Meanwhile, we filmed the Countryside Code presented by one of Wales’s top comedy actors Iwan John, and captured celebrity chef Dai Davies cooking a meal made from local produce alfresco.
The footage was backed up by documentation, weblinks and a contacts page.
