With the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act, Chester City Council wanted a video aimed at young disabled people, to provide information on their rights at work and when ‘out and about’ using services and transport.
We took a youth TV style approach using well known presenter Mat Fraser and young disabled people from Chester to present the information. We treated the subject matter and individuals with sensitivity and understanding and got great performances from people as a result.
Naturally, the resulting video was DDA compliant, and included a subtitled, signed and audio described version.
The video is used as part of a resource pack which is available in libraries and information centres across Chester.
